An important safety announcement for all our customers. The Australia Consumer and Competition Commission has issued a number of product recalls for the following products:

– BIG W—”Chevron” 4 and 6 Outlet Surge Protected Power Boards:

Product description: “Chevron” 4 and 6 Outlet Surge Protected Power Boards
Identifying features: “Chevron” 4 and 6 Outlet Surge Protected Power Boards with 3 Metre Lead, Models: WH-4PBS & WH-6PBS
What are the defects? The electrical contacts of the sockets are poorly aligned and the plastic enclosure does not meet the flammability requirements of the applicable standard.
What are the hazards? There is a risk of overheating and fire.
Dates product was available for sale:1st December 2009 – 7th November 2014

– Corevision Limited— 4 Socket Powerboard Outlet:

Product description: 4 Sockets Outlet Powerboards PBE-04
Identifying features: Avisen – UCA406C, marked with approval number SAA11902EA at the back of the product
What are the defects? In certain instances there may be non-compliance in terms of ignitability, lateral strain and withdrawal force.
What are the hazards? Risk of electric shock or fire.
Dates available for sale: 1st August 2013 – 1st July 2014
Traders who sold this product: The 4 Sockets Outlet Powerboards have been sold at “The Reject Shop” in Queensland and New South Wales since August 2013.

– SRG Leisure Retail Pty Ltd—4 Outlet Powerboard Sold at Supercheap Auto, BCF and Ray’s Outdoor Stores:

Product description: 4 Outlet Powerboard (Electrical Portable Outlet device) Model No. LA025A or LA025B
Identifying features: 4 outlet powerboard units marked with model number LA025A or LA025B are being recalled supplied by Supercheap Auto Pty Ltd, BCF Australia Pty Ltd and Ray’s Outdoors Pty Ltd and sold nationwide through Supercheap Auto, BCF and Ray’s Outdoors stores. Supercheap Auto stores have sold affected models packaged as Best Buy 4 Outlet Powerboard. BCF and Rays Outdoors stores have sold affected models packaged as 4 Outlet Powerboard.
What are the defects? Product does not comply with Australian and New Zealand electrical safety requirements concerning resistance to fire and a secure connection to inserted plugs.
What are the hazards? Potential risk of fire.

– Toshiba (Australia) Pty Ltd—AC Personal Computer Power Cords:
Product description:
“LS-15” labelled AC Power cord sold with PC computers between September 2010 and June 2012
Identifying features: “LS-15” moulded marking on appliance connector together with Product code/serial number combination
What are the defects? In some instances the “LS-15” labelled connector’s electrical insulation may degrade over time with the potential to overheat and burn.
What are the hazards? AC Power cord may overheat and potentially cause a burn hazard.
